Justicia Fronteriza PAC

Our Mission

Justicia Fronteriza PAC seeks to empower the community of El Paso County with:

  • Year-round information and action items on local, state, and federal issues, policies, and elections, particularly those affecting people who are poor, working-class, and barely middle-class;

  • Structural change through ballot initiatives; and

  • Recruiting, training, endorsing and supporting real progressive candidates who will fight for communities and people that have been historically excluded and denied justice with an emphasis on local races, including those that are non-partisan.

What We Do and Who We Are

Justicia Fronteriza is a Texas-based Political Action Committee made up of local progressive activists dedicated to bringing fairness, equity and justice to El Paso and our border community. We believe our path to a more just future means empowering our community and diminishing the influence of special interest groups. This means reforming campaign finance laws to limit campaign contributions while recruiting and supporting candidates that will not take funny money.

Empowering voters with information year-round.

We know that elections are cyclical, but the issues that affect our lives are on the agendas of our local governments every week.  Justicia Fronteriza PAC will be organizing campaigns around local issues year-round, helping residents hold elected officials accountable.  We plan to reach voters through different platforms and in both English and Spanish.  We believe that by motivating our people to become engaged with local politics year-round, we can increase voter turnout at elections.

Fighting for structural change.

Unfortunately, issues that are important to our community often do not make it to agendas and our elected officials can ignore us.  Ballot initiatives give us a chance to place issues before voters ourselves.   Campaign finance reform is one issue that is close to the PAC’s mission.  We know that by limiting the contributions that the oligarchs make to local elections, we can level the playing field for progressive candidates, while also making funny money irrelevant.

Recruiting Progressive candidates.

We know that the best candidates for office are often the least likely to run.  They are the people working in the community who understand our needs best.  However, they are disillusioned by politics’ “business as usual” and they fear having to compromise their progressive platforms in order to get campaign donations and votes.  Such candidates need to be recruited and supported.  Justicia Fronteriza PAC is ready to fill in the gaps that state and federal PACs have left by ignoring the importance of local elections to the progressive movement.
