Justicia Fronteriza endorses the El Paso Climate Charter - Prop K

Justicia Fronteriza endorses the El Paso Climate Charter - Prop K. We rise in solidarity with Sunrise El Paso and El Paso Climate as they continue to lead the fight against the existential threat of climate change and mass pollution in El Paso.

El Paso's youth are leading a community-based movement, building on the ongoing resistance of frontline communities and laborers who have fought against major polluters like Asarco, TXDOT, Marathon Refinery, and El Paso Electric in neighborhoods including Chamizal, Chaparral, Montana Vista, San Xavier, Sunset Heights, San Juan, and many more.

Justicia Fronteriza recognizes that those most affected by climate change are the people least responsible for its cause. They are:

* Children developing asthma and chronic lung problems
* Individuals battling respiratory problems, heart disease, cancer, and premature death
* Black and Brown communities that are often chosen as sites for refineries, gas power plants, transportation projects, and bus hubs
* Rural communities in the Permian Basin whose limited water supply is contaminated by fracking
* People enduring frequent earthquakes due to fracking
* Anyone who has been harmed by corporate greed, particularly laborers and frontline neighborhoods.

Organizations such as Sunrise El Paso and Justicia Fronteriza were established due to the negligence of past and present city officials who valued the profits of JP Morgan Chase bank, El Paso Electric Co., Marathon Oil, and other polluters above the wellbeing of their constituents.

We stand with you and believe in a healthier future for the borderland.

Vote Yes for Prop K on May 6th and let's create a livable, breathable, sustainable environment together.
